The case of Santa Maria Acapulco, San Luis Potosi.

Renata Schneider

On 1 July 2007, lightning struck a palm cover the church of Our Lady of the Assumption of the community xi'ói (PAME) of Santa Maria Acapulco, San Luis Potosí. The building had received another similar impact that destroyed the niches and central sculpture of the facade at the end of s. XIX. In 2007, due to the lack of lightning and very dry atmosphere of this semi arid region located in the Sierra Gorda, the roof of palm soon began to burn to subside soon, when the mooring rope of the stringers roofing system burned.
